The Night And Her Charms… Or Not. XD

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Between the hours of about 9-10pm and 2-3am is my favourite time of night. Prime time is over and has thankfully stopped screaming at me. The world begins to slow down. Most of all, I can think, and I’m one of those people who needs a certain stillness/calmness/silence in which to think.

It’s a time of night that has a certain feel to it. It’s distinct from earlier in the evening, or much later on in the night towards dawn. It’s still and quiet, especially during the week. I’ve discovered some of my favourite TV shows and movies during this time of night.

I like hearing the occasional car drive past. Suburbia has its own insane beauty that I just adore. (more…)

Don’t you just love technology? -_-

Chaser Madness

It just won’t die, will it? Jesus Christ, you’d think the media had better things to do than keep talking about them. But no, it was even brought up on Lateline again, both during the Friday Night Fight Club between Combet and Pyne (which was EPIC and lulzy and totally worth watching. XD) and in the intro to a story about Letterman pissing off Sarah Palin by apparently making jokes about one of her daughters. What, is it ‘let’s all get offended by comedy!’ month and I missed the memo? o.O

I was completely shocked by the furore that erupted over their ‘Make A Realistic Wish Foundation’ sketch, especially considering all the other potentially offensive material in that particular episode.

Okay, I’m the first to admit I did laugh at that particular sketch. It was wrong on so many levels, but damn did I laugh. Still, I do think it could’ve been executed better. This doesn’t make it an offensive sketch, it makes it one that was just done badly. There’s a difference. (more…)
